Name: Obesity, inflammation and cognition: Examining their relationship in a randomised controlled trial

Western Sydney University is conducting a trial to assist individuals with obesity to lose weight. The study will compare two groups; one group will complete 8 one-hour sessions of individual psychological therapy designed to help individuals lose weight long term plus 12 two-hour group sessions of a lifestyle intervention. The other group will complete 8 one-hour sessions of an individually tailored lifestyle program targeting eating and exercise behaviour plus 12 two-hour group sessions of a lifestyle intervention. Treatment will be conducted by two psychologists and a dietician. All treatment is free.

5. Recruitment Details

We are seeking people who are obese (body mass index (BMI) of 30 or above) and aged between 18-55 years old for this study. If you are interested in participating, please email weightlosstrialwsu@gmail.com  for more information.
