ANZAED Workshops: Friday 17th November
The Australia & New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders are running two workshop in Crows Nest in Sydney on Friday 17 November, aimed at clinicians working with eating disordered patient’s and will address common clinical challenges.
1. Eating Disorders Clinical Workshop for dietitians.
By Tara MacGregor, Linda Hodge, Helen Storey and Gabbi Heruc.
(co-hosted by the Dietitian Association of Australia Eating Disorder Interest group)
This workshop will address the following topics:
- Managing of issues that can challenge a Dietitian’s professional boundaries including confidentiality, out of hours contacts, social media, session time management and assisting highly distressed or seriously ill clients and being mindful of the line between eating behavior counselling and more broadly focused therapy.
- Eating Disorders & Gastrointestinal food allergies and food intolerances

2. Psychological Treatment of Eating Disorders: Advanced Skills and Clinical Decision Making.
Workshop by Chris Basten & Chris Thornton
This advanced workshop will address some of the common challenges within the clinical process and to offer some skills and strategies for each. Topics include managing obsessive-compulsive comorbid psychopathology; treating body-image distress and distortion; decision making with adolescent treatments and the creative use of behavioural experiments to catalyse change.
