Many health practitioners are interested in learning more about working effectively with people who have eating disorders. We provide a range of resources that can help health practitioners to develop knowledge and skills including our comprehensive eLearning program, clinical support (via telephone, email, video and teleconferencing), workshops, conferences and master class training days.
TELEPHONE SUPPORT FOR SERVICES & PROFESSIONALS
CEDD provides telephone and email advice regarding detecting and diagnosing eating disorders, assessment, management and referral. This service is available to hospitals, primary and secondary care services, medical practitioners, nurses, allied health professionals, school teachers, school counsellors, gyms and any service provider dealing with people with a possible eating disorder.
We can coordinate video and telephone conference support for non-specialist inpatient teams, provided by the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Eating Disorder Unit. This includes psychiatric, psychological and dietetic assessment and management advice. Please CONTACT US for further details and to arrange a meeting.
SUPPORT FOR CONSUMERS AND FAMILIES
CEDD provides limited services for families and people who experience eating disorders.
The Butterfly Foundation offers telephone and online support, including advice on treatment options, for people with an eating disorder, family members, carers and friends.
